Thomas Lingle bought this ground in 1765 and drew out ninety plots on it. He meant it as a place where arriving settlers could live, work, and study together. He named it the Town of St. Thomas, after the apostle he shared a name with.
The plan he drew still survives on sheepskin. Every plot is numbered on it and every street and alley is named. The county recorder’s seal sits down in the corner. Lower Paxton has since grown into the largest municipality in the county. The square at the center is still where the village started.

Usually yes, and hiding it is easier than people think. The instinct is to screen the hardware physically, but light does most of the work on its own.
