Quakers on Bennett Run
Quakers settled this ground in the 1730s. Theirs were among the first Quaker settlements anywhere west of the Susquehanna. Ellis Lewis held title along the small creek now called Bennett Run. So did Joseph Bennett, John Rankin, John Heald, and John Hall.

Every chinking line between the logs casts its own shadow. Rake a beam across that wall from a low angle and you get strong horizontal banding. That is either the best thing on the property or far too much. We test the angle before committing. Coming in flatter softens the bands, and coming in low exaggerates them.

Every fixture will eventually need a hand. A lens to clean, an aim to correct, a lamp at the end of its life. Nobody thinks about that on install day.
