Can you use the mature trees on my lot?
Gladly, and they are often the best feature. A century of growth means some impressive trunks and canopies, and one well-placed uplight at the base does more for a yard than several aimed at the house. Moonlighting from high in a large tree adds soft, dappled light across the ground below.
Will the lights spill onto my neighbor’s property?
Not with our approach. On the closer side-street lots we use narrow beams and shielded fixtures, then check the result from the sidewalk and the house opposite. Light stopping at your property line is part of the plan.
