Simon Cameron’s Birthplace and a Medal of Honor
Scots-Irish farmers settled this part of the county from 1716, drawn by good soil and reliable streams. Grist mills followed, and so did the village. Simon Cameron was born here and went on to serve as Lincoln’s Secretary of War.
